the first frankenride
comes to life and takes to the trails

Frankenrides didn't start in a dark cellar or board room but like all 'proper' cycling ideas Frankenride was born in a bar in downtown Lagos, Portugal.

In a drunken conversation with Jim from 'The Mountain Bike Adventure' I explained how we were going to try and start turning peoples bike ideas into reality. He immediately slurred 'I've been thinking about an idea for a long travel hardtail for some time now!'

Fast forward 5 months and here it is The Foia, the first true Frankenride. An original idea for a bike; developed from sketches, emails and old skool chat. Then refined in CAD, reviewed on this site and lastly built into the first prototype you see here.

It's not a quick process but it has it's rewards, we've developed a totaly unique frame, that not only looks superb but also happens to ride damn well (Ride review coming soon).

How does this story end?

Well this frame will be winging it's way down to Portugal soon, where Jim will be ragging it around the hills of Lagos.
