MBUK fully Frankenride competition - news

About 4 months ago MBUK kindly ran an article about our little project, in it we asked for you Frankenride designs. Nothing prepared us for the monster we had just made.

We recieved literally hundreds of designs from all over the world, some good, some great and some, well monsters. But the main thing we recieved was a lot of full suspension designs.

Now we've only made hardtails to date and we planned to move slowly into the 'full susser' arena next year. But having been sent so many full suspension designs we decided to make a specific MBUK full susser competition and make the winning design our first FS bike.

So over the last few weeks we got together a special international panel of suspension guru's, riders, industry experts and alcoholics. This motley crew has been trawling through ALL the designs with a plan to shortlist 10 of the best and most interesting designs.

Today (24.10.10) we shortlisted 11 designs (simply unable to cut it back to 10) and we've sent them off to our top flight illustrator and DH bullet Monet Adams. Monet will bring the shortlisted designs to life via her skillful pen and in about 2 weeks we'll upload all 11 designs here along with specifications and a write up.

Then anyone with an internet connection and the ability to type can submit comments either good or bad about each design. The design that gets the most interest and comments, we'll put forward into CAD, then develop into a prototype next year.

The winning designer will get to keep his or her design. It's that simple, it's The MBUK Fully Frankenride Competition.
