A creek included in
every frame!
When we started Kingdom Bike, we had to get serious and make some decisions about industry standards and our frames and headtube sizing was our first big one.
Finding an industry standard for headsets is a heated topic, to see this in action, just start a thread called ‘the best size for a headset’ and watch the bike forums exploded into action.
We knew what size head tubes we wanted for our frames and we knew what stack heights we wanted, but the plethora of headset options available was mind blowing.
After a lot of research, there was only one company that had a consistent strategy, approach and a product line to cover everything we needed, that is Cane Creek.
The guys at Cane Creek helped us decide the specific product parts that would give us the ideal headset solution, along with all the support documentation we needed to ensure our frame builders knew exactly the headtube tolerances required.
Couple all this with arguably one of the best customer support services in the bike industry and we decided to pre-install all our frames with Cane Creek headsets and include them in the price.
Some technical stuff...
Vendetta
The Vendetta frame is built for 4X, so we wanted to run a tapered headtube for stiffness, but at the same time we knew we wanted to keep the stack height and the front end as low as possible for sharp race responsive handling. So we chose to run with a tapered Zero Stack or semi integrated tapered headtube, this combined with tapered 1.5” forks gave us a super low, responsive yet stiff front end.
The total weight of this set up is a mere 97grams and a total stack height of 10.2mm. The stack height at the bottom (where it really counts) is a virtually invisible 3.2mm.
The added benefit with this Cane Creek system is by simply changing the lower crown to a 1.5” to 1.1/8” reducer crown you can run a standard fork with this frame and headset. We supply this frame with both a 1.5” and a 1.1/8” lower crown race.

Legion
We decided a tapered head tube for this multi-purpose trail frame would be overkill, so we’ve opted for a straight 50mm headtube and a Zero Stack S3 for a 1.1/8 threadless steerer. This keeps the Legion frame looking nice and tidy and reduces the front end with a 120mm forks.
Imperial and Vinyl
We wanted to keep these road frames as ‘classic’ as possible. So here we’ve specified Cane Creeks beautiful made 110.TR headset. A classic 1.1/8 threadless design available in a selection of colours for coordinating with components on the fixie frame.
